Scott Lloyd MSc. ETH Arch focuses on developing and communicating the value of design effort in urban transformation. His research, teaching and writing explore the economy, politics and aesthetics of spatial production.
He has led multidisciplinary teams across private, academic, and humanitarian sectors in collaboration with renowned Swiss and international institutions. He co-founded TEN, a design research association for speculation, prototyping, and strategy for urban habitation. Its current focus lies in urban ecologies, public value of design and collective design intelligence.
He has taught architecture and urban transformation at ETH Zurich, Hanyang University, and the University of Galicia. Previously, he led the urban research agenda at IDMC, directing projects on urban development strategies, and communicating innovative policy on human migration. He also directed cross-sector urban transformation projects at The Urban-Think Tank, ETH Zurich, specializing in participatory design, urban innovation, and cross-media dissemination.
His work is widely published and exhibited, he is regularly invited to present on topics of urban transformation at leading academic and architectural platforms.
